GlazeLab

What is a GlazeLab?
It is a space to understand what a glaze is through experimentation and laboratory wor

It takes time, a lifetime, to understand how a glaze works, but together we start from the beginning, and step by step you will find your own way. There are several methods of experimentation, one that is structured and one that is more intuitive. One is not better than the other, you will find your own path through glazes.

During the class you will be brought into a safe way to glazes through progressive group exercises. Through group tutorings and mixing-firing-observing process, you will start to draw your own way.

The GlazeLab is a space to learn through theory, exercises and experimentation; a space to learn together, by doing exercises in groups and looking at the results together; a space for self-experimentation, to create your own path, and return to your studio with your own recipes and notes.

As a course leader, I aim to provide a foundation that helps you to experiment, and to understand what happens along the way. I also want to be a co-researcher at times, to learn together and at the same time. Each course is for me a way to understand new and exciting things about the glaze materials!

I hope we will share exciting experimentation and understanding of glazes together!

For whom?
The GlazeLAB is for those who are curious to learn more about glazes and want to make them their own. If you have some experience of glazing, you will already have a basic understanding of what it involves. You don’t need to have done it many times; glazing ceramics two or three times is enough to count as experience!

The Glazelab can be hold in english, swedish or french

Where?

The GlazeLAB is an itinerant project, aimed to be experimented in places with different kind of infrastructures and materials to work with.
